Many of what today's women see as personal romantic problems reflect broader social ones.

One very prevalent way in which contemporary men's issues can become women's issues is in dating and romantic involvement.

Many women complain of a "man shortage" these days.  Others are dating, but don't particularly like the way their dates treat them. Still others are satisfied with their dating relationships, but frustrated that these aren't leading to marriage.

It's not hard to find a correlation between all three developments.  Men who know they're considered scarce commodities are more apt to feel they can get away with behavior that's inconsiderate, selfish, rude, or otherwise objectionable.  As for making commitments, when you're a sought-after item, why be too quick to tie yourself down to any particular female?
