The kinds of men who advance in today's corporate society may not be particularly attractive to women.

The problems for successful women inherent in the mathematics of mate availability tend to be compounded by the prevailing courtier culture in corporate society.   Under a courtier culture, fewer of the males who have the requisite status may be genuinely impressive enough in their own right to generate much personal "chemistry."  And since courtiers don't typically experience much dignity in their own lives, they may be quite clueless about according it to others.

All in all, not an auspicious state of affairs for women.

It's also an example of how the well-being of most women is difficult to completely separate from the well-being of men.   This means that "us versus them" type thinking is rarely in order.   And almost certainly the gloating tone we hear from some quarters about the "obsolescence of testosterone" is inappropriate.

In the end, nobody really wins when either sex is diminished.
