There’s something disingenuous in the whole framing of the abortion issue as being about “choice” in the first place. The “pro-choice” label inherently implies that without the option of abortions on demand, women lack reproductive choice.

This is patently not so.

Women have lots of choices--whether or not to have sex, using what form of birth control, with whom (e.g, somebody who’s likely to acknowledge and support any offspring), etc. The question of having an abortion really only arises when the other choices the woman has made haven’t turned out so well.  

It doesn't strike me as especially prudent to give a woman who hasn’t done well with her other choices the additional opportunity to decide the fate of a human life.
