Artist's Notes

The rhythm of the arched bridge supports was what first caught my eye about this scene.  It's also interesting how in the afternoon haze, a gritty industrial area takes on colorations that might seem more typical of, say, yachting at Newport

Even the power lines, which may at first register as mere visual static, turn out on closer viewing to have a kind of lacy delicacy about them--and to reveal considerable care and artistry in their design and construction.

I think if this scene were music, the massive bridge supports would be deep brass, and the fine power lines would be piccolos.
