Bob Winter designs and manages development of  application software for Aurora Cyberware, Inc.    Among other things, he 's a former television reporter. 

Bob is the founder and architect of Notes in a Bottle.  His passion for more open new forms of publishing may be genetic:  he recently discovered that he's descended from a family of German publishers whose personal friends included Goethe and Schiller, yet were always interested in giving new writers a chance to be heard.  

An earlier member of this family displayed essentially the same trait:   she was so impressed with a young student that she let him board in her home for free.  The  student was Martin Luther.
